Allen Matthews Visit Allen's Gallery

An Atlanta native, Allen graduated from University of Georgia 1960 with a BFA in Fine Art. He worked as an Art Director in the Coca Cola Company Art Department from 1953 to 1955, and after college as AD at BBDO advertising on Delta Airlines account. He began photography career at the same time. His first published editorial work, in 1961, is the railroad reportage in this exhibit. Allen worked exclusively in photography from the publication of that work until present.

Allen Matthews visited Cortona in 1984 and then lived in Cortona from late 1984 through early '87. After many extended visits between '87 and 2000 he has stayed primarily in Cortona since 2000.

Allen has won many awards for his work in editorial and advertising photography, including CA Magazine, NY Art Directors Show, One Show, Atlanta AD Show, Miami, Jacksonville, Richmond, Charlotte, Birmingham, etc. He has been making images in Italy since'84.

 

 

Robin Davis Visit Robin's Gallery

Robin Davis has been teaching the Cortona Center of Photography workshops in Italy since 1998.

As an artist and photographer, she has researched and worked extensively with a variety of unique photographic techniques, blending tradition with experimentation to achieve painterly and illustrative images. Her fine art photography has been featured for: Liz Claiborne, Penguin Putnam Publishing, St. Martin's Press, The Coca-Cola Company, GTE, The High Museum Of Art, Michael C. Carlos Museum/Emory University, Moving Images International, The Piedmont Park Conservancy, The Goethe-Institut, Visiting Nurse Health Systems, The Atlanta Shakespeare Company, The Borghese, Wine Enthusiast Magazine, Bellagio Las Vegas, Bloomingdales and Alegria Records.

Robin has won awards and enjoyed numerous solo exhibitions, and her photography and limited edition handmade books are represented in galleries and private collections.

Alfredo Falvo Visit Alfredo's Gallery

From 1999 to 2000 Alfredo Falvo studied at the International Center of Photography in New York where he also had the opportunity to do an internship at the Magnum Agency (N.Y.) Social reportage is his favorite subject. He came out with his most important work in 2004, photographing the difficult reality of  Skid Row, L.A., which will be soon become a book, "Lost Angels". His reportage has been published in magazines in Italy and the US, and has been exhibited internationally. Alfredo Falvo is a native of Tuscany and has been teaching with the Cortona Center of  Photography since 2001.
